Tasty Fruit Salad (Recipe)



Food not only feeds the soul, but it nourishes the body and is by far the most important component of a good fitness regime. One of the things that I have personally struggled with in terms of my diet is satisfying my sweet tooth without completely falling off the wagon and destroying all of the progress that I have made throughout the week. My 'Tasty Fruit Salad' recipe for does just that and can be found below:

Ingredients:
6 Oranges (Cubed)
5 apples (Cubed)
1/3 Cup Freshly-Squeezed Orange Juice
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1 Tbsp Honey (or Sugar)

Directions:
1. Chop oranges by first slicing off the top and bottom, and removing the rind. Cut into cubes and set aside.
2. Cube apples with skin off or peeled based on your personal preference.
3. In a small saucepan, add freshly-squeezed orange juice, lemon juice and honey (or sugar), and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes until it thickens a bit.
4. In a decent size bowl, pour sauce over apples and toss until the apples are coated evenly.
5. Add in chopped oranges and mix.
6. Cover bowl or put into meal prep containers for up to 5 days.
